This single grain whiskey is a Double Gold Medal winner in San Francisco. All the whiskeys here are double barreled, first spending time in level 4 char ex-bourbon barrels and then spending more time maturing in a different cask. The Double Barrel is finished in 500 litre Oloroso casks. A nose rich with dark fruit, cherry, raisin, fig and Christmas pudding. Floral notes with lemongrass, citrus and a touch of nutmeg. The palate is sweet and smooth, with butterscotch, honey and peppercorn, dried fruit, maraschino cherries and brown sugar. The finish has ginger spices a touch of almond and earthiness.
