Glengoyne sets itself apart from other distilleries by using only barley that has been dried using warm air, which produces its signature bright, complex yet delicate style of whisky. Spending 25 years maturing in predominately first-filled sherry casks has left a deep sherry impression on this single malt. Big sherry on the nose and palate, with lots of figs raisins and and oranges. Notes of almonds and leather also. Complex palate of chocolate vanilla, cinnamon, Christmas cake and baking spice. The finish is long and drying. One to savour neat.
