Produced in the French region of Cognac, G'Vine sets itself apart from traditional grain-based gins by using a grape spirit and infusing it with Ugni Blanc grape, as well as ginger root, liquorice, cardamom, cassia bark, coriander, cubeb berries, nutmeg, lime, bergamot, plum, sandalwood and vetiver on top of the usual juniper. The Nouaison has a higher ABV than the Floraison, which comes through easily – it's a touch hot at first, but that's not a bad thing, given how perfumed the gin is. The nose has obvious grape notes with citrus and juniper present. The higher ABV comes through on the palate and is helped by the woodier spice notes, and unctuous mouth feel. An utterly delicious gin.
