In 1974, Herradura launched their reposado, considered to the first commerical reposado, thus setting the benchmark for the category. The tequila is aged for 11 months, much longer than most reposados, which are usually aged anywhere between 2-12 months. Cooked agave, butter and vanilla on the nose, with increased oak on the palate, but nicely balanced by the roasted agave. Subtle notes of vanilla and spice, going into a long sweet finish. Versatile in its usage, but will give extra dimension to cocktails.
