Most people love this whisky because of the squarish shape of its bottle, and we must admit it does look pretty cool. But don't let that distract you from the fact that this is a great whisky. It is a blend of malt whiskies from the Miyagikyo and Yoichi distilleries and grain whiskies, all married together in a variety of casks, including bourbon and sherry. This has lots of flavour and depth. Soft fruits, oak and nice spice on the nose. The sweetness of the grain whisky comes out on the palate along with orange peel, cinnamon and clove. The finish is warming with fruit and spice. With a drop of water, this becomes amazing. Try in an Old Fashioned for something different.
