Douglas Laing has been independently bottling Scotch since 1948, and have several ranges that include blended malts, blended whiskies, single malts, and single grain. The Old Particular range consists of single cask malt or grain whiskies sourced from highly-sought after distilleries from all over Scotland, all non-chill filtered, with no added colouring and bottled at natural cask strength. Blair Athol malts are usually used in blends, but the rare single malt bottlings it has released have not disappointed. Cas in point, this Old Particular bottling, which is limited to just 93 bottles worldwide. On the nose, you get stone fruit juice with oak and woody spices. A youthful palate of fruit, stewed young ginger and citrus zest. The finish has a nice oily texture with woody spice.
