Douglas Laing has been independently bottling Scotch since 1948, and have several ranges that include blended malts, blended whiskies, single malts, and single grain. The Old Particular range consists of single cask malt or grain whiskies sourced from highly-sought after distilleries from all over Scotland, all non-chill filtered, with no added colouring and bottled at natural cask strength. Cambus is a closed grain distillery in the Lowlands that was once considered one of the best grain whiskies in Scotland. Only 236 bottles of this Old Particular single cask was released, and it is a great representation of the heights a good single grain whisky can reach. The sherried nose is similar to that of a Pedro Ximenez sherry, full of raisins, chocolates and toasted cinnamon. The palate is rich and sweet, of chocolate, caramel and tinned fruits. A pleasant finish of spice and powdered sugar. Enjoy and savour this neat, after a meal.
