Douglas Laing has been independently bottling Scotch since 1948, and have several ranges that include blended malts, blended whiskies, single malts, and single grain. The Old Particular range consists of single cask malt or grain whiskies sourced from highly-sought after distilleries from all over Scotland, all non-chill filtered, with no added colouring and bottled at natural cask strength. Ledaig is the smoky expression produced by the Tobermory Distillery on the Isle of Mull. Only 314 bottles of this single cask were produced. Aged in a PX cask, this offers raisin, smoked meats and plum jam on the nose. The palate reflects the smoky element with a touch of sea grass, black currants and jammy flavours. The finish has smoke coming through, balance by orange oil and peel. A bit of spice also just there.
