Douglas Laing has been independently bottling Scotch since 1948, and have several ranges that include blended malts, blended whiskies, single malts, and single grain. The Old Particular range consists of single cask malt or grain whiskies sourced from highly-sought after distilleries from all over Scotland, all non-chill filtered, with no added colouring and bottled at natural cask strength. 378 bottles of this single cask malt from Talisker were released. As expected from a whisky from this iconic Isle of Skye distillery, you get lots of smoke and peat on the nose with costal sea salt. The palate has both sweet and salty flavours with some brown sugar – all very classic Talisker flavours. The finish is a youthful smoke with nice sweet savoury balance. Add a drop of water to bring out the full smokiness.
