Pierre Ferrand use only the best grapes from the Grande Champagne area in Cognac. Within this area, there is the 'golden triangle', where the soil is extremely chalky which makes for very acidic wines. The eau de vie distilled with these wines make for very fine cognacs after aging. This on/off vintage is very rare, as 1972 yielded the perfect condition for the grapes. Alluring and intense with vibrant purity. Bright yellow fruits, smoky earthiness, herbs and flowers, molasses in undulating layers. Tingly intensity, but silky finish which just wouldn't quit. Exquisite.
