Douglas Laing has been independently bottling Scotch since 1948, and have several ranges that include blended malts, blended whiskies, single malts, and single grain. The Provenance range marks the beginning of its Exceptional Single Casks journey, which encompasses four distinct, yet complementary ranges – Provenance, Premier Barrel, Old Particular and XOP – all meant to showcase the wide variety of flavours throughout Scotland's whisky regions. Auchentoshan is an iconic Lowland malt, and only 346 bottles of this 6 Year Old single cask were released. Yet another young dram, but with a release of only 379 bottles. The young nature of the whisky comes through on the nose with the spice and dairy notes. The palate has lots of barley and cake flavours, lots of buttery richness. Sweet finish with cinnamon just about there.
