Campbeltown used to be the whisky capital of the world, but there are only 3 distilleries left there, the most famous of which is Springbank, which has a huge cult following all over the world. The core 10 year old is matured in bourbon and sherry barrels. The nose has hints of pear, peat, vanilla and malt. On the palate, more malt, oak, nutmeg and cinnamon, plus some vanilla. The finish is sweet with a touch of salt. Very typical of Campbeltown.
