Tamdhu's single malt is aged exclusively in Oloroso casks and has been since its inception in 1898. Unfortunately, the single malt distillery was closed in 2010, but Iain MacLeod distillers, a family enterprise seeking to build on its tradition and excellence in making the best whisky, invested and reopened the distillery. In 2013, they released the 10 Year Old. Dried orange peel, red wine, pecan and raspberry jam on the nose. The palate has soft red fruit followed by brown sugar and spicy clove. A touch of chocolate-covered nuts. The finish is warm with ginger, chocolate and blackcurrant. Enjoy with a drop of water.
