Established in 1948, Douglas Laing & Co is an independent bottler based in Glasgow. The Epicurean is part of its Remarkable Regional Malts, a range of blended malts aimed at showcasing the remarkable qualities of each Scotch region's malt whiskies. The Epicurean range focuses on malts from the Scottish Lowlands, and is a nod to its home city of Glasgow. This is a cask strength edition of the blended malt, that boasts big Lowland flavours with the punch of a higher ABV. Fresh barley and zesty lemon on the nose, with a nice malty rye note. Heavy on the vanilla with a nice cake flavour, think butter cake. A minty character also lurking in there. The finish, subtle with a touch of chocolate. Enjoy neat!
