GlenDronach has a fine reputation for great sherried scotches, and has a cult following among whisky lovers thanks to a great core range and and unique single cask releases. The distillery has also been releasing Cask Strength batches of their whiskies. Batch 7 is bottled at 57.9 % ABV, and has been aged in Pedro Ximenez and Oloroso Casks. A warming nose of gingerbread, dark berry fruit and spice. The palate is big – coffee, toffee brown sugar and nuts. A rich finish of oak, chocolate truffles and tannin. A drop of water will really help here.
