Established in 1948, Douglas Laing & Co is an independent bottler based in Glasgow. Timorous Beastie is part of its Remarkable Regional Malts, a range of blended malts aimed at showcasing the remarkable qualities of each Scotch region's malt whiskies. The Timorous Beastie range focuses on malts from the Scottish Highland region, with malts from Blair Athol, Dalmore, Glengoyne and Glen Garioch Distilleries, among others, all aged only in ex-bourbon barrels. This 18 Year Old expression has a big honeyed nose with soft-cooked apricots underneath. A palate packed with barley and vanilla. The hardier woody spices are also there – black pepper, cinnamon and clove. The spices linger on the finish with a touch of oak.
