Named after Albrecht von Haller, a famous physiologist and naturalist of the German enlightenment who founded the Old Botanical Garden of Göttingen University in 1736, which is where the botanicals used for this gin come from! The botanicals, including fuchsia, lemon verbena and German ginger, are taken to the Drumshambo Distillery for a slow distillation. The results are impressive. This is a refreshing and fragrant gin, with big floral green notes on the nose, followed by a punch of citrus. On the palate, the floral notes are on the foreground, but the dry ginger and woodier species come through late, and ends with a long lingering finish. Great in long, citrusy drinks.
