Aged for 14 years, first in tradational casks, then further finished in casks that previously held rum. Not just any rum, but a blend of West Indian rums chosen by Balvenie malt master David C. Stewart and filled in American Oak casks. Once he judged them to be read, he emptied the casks and finish the Scotch inside them. The deep colour reflects the deep hue and rich aroma of tropical fruit and toffee. The fruitiness on the palate is ever-evolving, with sweet oak notes and rounded vanilla. The spice finish often associated with rum is what gives this 14 year old a lovely lingering warming finish. A fabulous single malt for rum and whisky lovers alike.
