The founder of Compass Box, John Glazer, set up the company in 2000 because he felt too many people were selling whisky the same way. Thanks to his belief that blending creates something greater than the sum of its parts, Compass Box is now regarded as one of the great blending houses of the modern age. Their whiskies are all non-chill-filtered and without added colouring, regardless of whether it is a malt or grain whisky. Compass Box also believes in the character and flavour of the whisky more than just the age. The Asyla is made from a blend of 2 single malts and 1 single grain (Glen Elgin, Linkwood and Cameronbridge), and is ideal as an aperitif. A soft nose with melon, citrus and honey. On the palate, vanilla cream, cereal grain and a subtle apple-like character. The finish is fruity with oak.
