Called Ilegal because the mezcal used to be smuggled by founder John Rexer, it was officially launched in 2005. This Anejo is aged in American oak for 13 months, and rivals even the finest scotches and cognac. Made from 100% Espadin agave, which gives it a lovely fruity note, and maple, woody spice and bitter orange aromas. The flavour is cooked agave, stone fruits and dark cocoa. To be sipped after a great night out.
