Laphroaig is another cult favourite amongst whisky connoisseurs, with classic flavours of smoke, peat and very medicinal, think iodine. The 10 Year Old is an Islay malt in the most classic sense, showcasing some great peaty flavours and wood influence. A big nose of smoke, seaweed, iodine and some underlaying sweetness. The sweetness comes out on the palate towards to the end, after the sea salt, smoke peat, vanilla and oak have played on our tongue. The finish is big, long and chewy. One to drink on a cold night.
