PRODUCT INFORMATION
For over 60 years, Master Distiller Jimmy Russell has been making Wild Turkey 101 at the Austin Nichols distillery in Kentucky. The recipe is high in rye, which contributes a spice punch of flavour. They also use the most heavily toasted and charred barrels, which give the bourbon its gorgeous red hue and impactful flavour. This is bottled at 81 proof (40.5%), so has a less of a punch than the usual 101 proof (50.5%). A spiced and oaky nose with vanilla fudge, rye spices and coffee beans. A big palate rich with notes of caramel, honey, vanilla and oily espresso beans. Long finish of caramel and coffee. Great neat on the rocks or mixed with ginger ale.
