Back in 2006, 2 German bartenders with a history of making and collecting bitters decide to recreate and sell their own bitters. They launched The Bitter Truth with an Orange bitters and an Aromatic style as well. Since then, several other flavours of bitters have been launched, along with non-alcoholic waters and spirits/liqueurs. First mentioned in classic 1929 cocktail book The Bon Vivants Companion, Bogart's Bitters is considered the original bitters, and went into many drinks. The bitters were later discontinued, but the guys behind The Bitter Truth managed to find and purchase the last bottle in existence. They tasted, analysed, researched and finally recreated this masterpiece. This has a complex and bitter nose, which is reflected in the taste. Dark chocolate, cardamom, liquorice, coffee and spice. To be used in the most classic of cocktails.
