Suntory may be best known for their whisky, but the Japanese firm has also been making gin since 1936 and thus have over 100 years of gin-making expertise. Roku means '6' in Japanese, referring to 6 Japanese botanicals that is added on top of the other usual botanicals. These 6 botanicals showcase the seasons in Japan – Spring (sakura leaf and sakura flower), Summer (sencha tea and gyokuro tea), Autumn (sansho pepper) and Winter (yuzu peel). Smooth, oily, and clinical in the way it opens up and develops on the palate. The gin is delicious when sipped neat, or stirred down.
